The Triple Strand



Perceptions that drive risk attitude are influenced by many factors. These can be grouped under three headings: conscious assessments that are largely rational; subconscious factors including mental short-cuts or other sources of cognitive bias; and gut-level affective factors including feelings and emotions.

The various factors form a triple strand of influence that is a complex intertwining of factors that is hard to unravel or predict.
